Flight Radiotelephony Operator’s Licence

The Flight Radiotelephony Operator’s Licence (FRTOL) authorises you to operate an Aircraft Radio Station in a UK registered aircraft.The FRTOL is a national licence that can be issued as a stand-alone licence but is normally held in conjunction with another Flight Crew licence.

  • The FRTOL practical test can be arranged at Shoreham Airport ( Brighton City Airport) or a destination within 100 miles of Shoreham.

  • Training can be tailored around you, your experience and your requirements.

  • One-to-one training and practice is available should you require.


Sarah Parker

CAA approved to carry out the practical examinations either at Shoreham Airport or your flight school in the southern region.

CAA FRTOL examiner Sarah Parker is available for both RT training to complete the SRG1171, and to carry out the practical FRTOL test.

Sarah is a flight Instructor with over 20 years teaching experience. Currently teaching the integrated course and modular courses, including CPL and IR training, Sarah started her career teaching trial lessons and PPL at Shoreham Airport, working her way up to CPL and IR instructor.

As well as extensive flight experience, Sarah holds a Radio Operator’s Certificate of Competence (ROCC) and is trained as an air-ground communication service (AGCS).
